Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Buffalo, Inc. is a local nonprofit Agency established in 1965. We offer a wide array of services that provide solutions to the complex financial side of our lives. Counseling sessions focus on proper budgeting techniques, debt repayment options, student loan assistance, small business advice, credit report education and credit score explanations. Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Buffalo also offers free financial literacy classes in the WNY community to schools, colleges/universities, churches, and companies of all sizes!
The collective mission of our Agency is to provide the best strategies to help people master their credit. We strive to minimize the social stigma associated with debt. Don’t confuse us with the ads you see on the television, we do not offer debt settlement services, which can often times do more damage than good when someone is attempting to become debt free. CCCS of Buffalo actively seeks partnerships within the WNY community and many of our educational programs are funded by generosity of local foundations and banks.

Financial Counseling
From budgeting advice and suggestions for positive spending habits, to a creditor repayment plan, you and your counselor will work as a team to create a spending plan and determine the best plan to achieve your financial goals. Ultimately, your counselor has your best interest in mind.
Housing Counseling
At Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Buffalo, our Delinquency Housing Counseling is Free. We are part of the New York State Attorney General’s Homeowner Protection Program (HOPP), which funds a network of more than 85 trusted partners dedicated to providing homeowners with free, qualified mortgage assistance relief services across New York. Whether you are behind on your mortgage payments or feel you may become behind in the near future, a Certified Financial Counselor can help you explore available options that may make your mortgage more affordable for you.
Pre-Purchase / Homebuyer Education
CCCS understands that purchasing a home can be a very exciting time, as well as a newfound responsibility in your life. Whether you’re a first-time homebuyer or just looking to become more educated about homeownership, we can help you prepare.
CCCS offers a homebuyer education course which covers topics such as becoming financially ready to buy a home, managing your budget, understanding credit, the process of obtaining a mortgage, shopping for a home, and managing your finances.
The course is offered periodically throughout the year in a workshop setting and also available to take online at any time. Upon completion of all course requirements, you will be issued a certificate of completion often required by federal, state and local grants mortgage programs and the First Home Club.

Bankruptcy Center
CCCS of Buffalo is approved to issue certificates evidencing completion of a personal financial management instructional course and a debtor education instructional course in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code.
